Yay, the drive for one of my favorite charities has started! Child's Play is a charity set up by the guys over at Penny Arcade to send money, toys, and games to children's hospitals around the world. It started with one hospital in Seattle, and now there are (I think) 28 children's hospitals worldwide participating! You can read their awesome story here. The whole idea is to give gamers a positive image, instead of the blood-thirsty teenagers portrayed in the media.

I am especially excited because two of the hospitals are local for me - Louisville's Kosair Children's Hospital and Akron's Children's Hospital. To help a hospital of your choice, click on a controller on the map and it will take you to an Amazon.com wishlist for that hospital. I wish I had more money to donate, because really, I'd buy DS Lites for eeeeeveryone! But I vow to donate a paycheck to each hospital sometime between now until Christmas. Sure, there are other charities probably more worthwhile than buying video games for children (in other people's opinions), but video games help me through my crappy time in northeast Ohio, and I'd like to help kids through their tough times when they're sick. ^_^ I hope you will donate too!
