Mario vs. Donkey Ko...zzzzzz...

I purchased Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis (DS) a few days ago. It was completely on a whim because I hadn't read any reviews about this game, but I remember hearing that the first Mario vs. Donkey Kong was fun, and come on, it's Mario. And Donkey Kong. Can I really go wrong?

Apparently yes I can, because I'm already considering returning the game and getting credit towards Contact (which comes out soon yaaay). It's not a bad game, it's somewhat entertaining and, of course, ridiculously cute :) You control several wind-up mini-Mario toys and try to guide them all to the goal, Lemmings-style. Along the way are obstacles, gaps, enemies and Donkey Kongs that flip you up into the air. At the end of each "world", you battle Donkey Kong to move on to the next world. And of course, there are things to collect, like cards that spell out "Mini-Mario" in each level. Really should be a winner, hm? They even make little squeak-toy noises! Just look at how cute it is (these are not my images):

Weeell, maybe I'm just lazy, or just bad at solving puzzles, but this game is a little more frustrating than fun. The mini-Marios are simply brainless toys that keep bumping into each other and then go off into the wrong direction and get themselves killed. It's a great game for just picking up and playing between classes, but I usually get bored before I get very far. Solving the levels aren't that satisfying, and it doesn't seem like there's more to this game than the levels and the occasional mini-game, so once I get bored I just shut it off or pop in Tetris (which, oh man, I can never stop playing). I'm going to give it a few more tries, but I might just have to let this one go. Oh well, I still have New Super Mario Bros. to keep me company until a few new games come out.

Rating: 6.5 out of 10

By the way, in sheer frustration from buying this game, and just because I could, I traded my white DS for a black one the very next day, and it's so preeeetty! But now I'm too paranoid about leaving fingerprints all over it -.-

Don't Worry, Mama Will Fix It!

Ben bought me Cooking Mama (DS) over the weekend. I can't stop playing! I want to BE Cooking Mama. Seriously, I am thinking of being her for Halloween... and then whip out my mixing bowl right on the street and start kneading in circles and diagonals. ^_^

(Images from Cooking Mama's official website)

This is one of the most enjoyable video games I've played in a long time. You play as a student of Cooking Mama (who is adorable with her bandana and her non-nose), and start off with 15 basic recipes to master, including pan-fried vegetables, miso soup, and sandwiches. As you make each dish, you have the option of changing the recipe and therefore unlocking or "mastering" new dishes. You do things like chop scallions, peel potatoes, tenderize meat (one of my favorites), and fold dumplings! I love how I'm being introduced to so many foreign traditional foods, and it's reminding me of some favorites that I haven't had in a while, like curry and fried shrimp, yuuuum. What I find a little weird is that a lot of the recipes use ketchup on rice and noodles, usually on Japanese-style foods. I don't know enough about Japanese cuisine to know if this is accurate or not. Hmm... And what the heck is croquette? I had never heard of it until I played this game; it's like this fried ball-type thing that includes meat and potatoes. And of course, it sounds delicious, and I plan on finding a recipe and making it one day.

I'm happy to see a game that solely uses the touch screen, which I think a lot of DS games don't take enough advantage of. It's kind of like WarioWare with the quick little things you have to do like chop and slice, but while WarioWare can be fun if say, you're 5 minutes early to class and need to kill time, it's not as rewarding and satisfying as making a finished product like a meal. But what I think really makes this game is the awesome ragtime and blues piano music! Majesco really picked the perfect music for this game; it's relaxing but upbeat enough to keep you playing. Much better than the porn-ish music on Giada De Laurentiis's show on Food Network, which just... isn't right for food. I even tear lettuce and peel carrots to the music sometimes! I've played this game so much that when I was making (real) dinner last night, I was disappointed that I didn't have music playing in the background. If I could have a soundtrack to go with my life, Cooking Mama music will always be playing while I make food. And maybe even while I eat!

I'd say the only downfall to this game is that real recipes aren't included, because that's what I really want! The cooking techniques are only accurate to a certain point; I want to know exact measurements and times so I can make all these yummy dishes! Oh well, at the very least Cooking Mama has reconfirmed my love of cooking, and given me new dishes to look up and try :) I love this game, and I can't wait until Cooking Mama: Cooking with International Friends for the Wii comes out!

The Lite Brigade

T-shirts everywhere! Here is yet another awesome design, called "The Lite Brigade," and add this to my "Video Game T-shirts Christmas List" along with the Katamari cousins and the Peek-a-boo shirts:

Courtesy of the guys at Penny Arcade, this is one of the many new designs that they just added to their merchandise, along with an upside-down calculator that says "boobies." How weird is it that just a few days ago while I was washing dishes at work, I was thinking about how hilarious it was that of the few letters that you get on a calculator, you can spell boobies! Heee. The only thing - I really don't like white-on-black shirts that much (although the DS lites are in black and white); what about gold-on-jungle green? Ah whatever I'll take it, it's still really coool ^_^

Blingin' DS by Paris Hilton

I don't care what they say, I think this is sweet. Kotaku reports that Paris Hilton of all people, designed a limited-edition pink Nintendo DS Lite covered with Swarovski crystals. It's pretty ridiculous:

There were supposedly only 20 of these babies made, and they are going for about $1500 on eBay. But I want one, they're so hideously fabulous!

...And Baby Wario for Magnetism!

Heh heh, my favorite line from the Yoshi's Island DS commercial. Anyway, now that I finally got this game back from Ben since he so discretely took it from me Thanksgiving break, I can review the game. If you haven't played Yoshi's Island for the SNES, you need to stop reading this and play it now. It's one of the best 2D platform games ever made, and not to mention very entertaining because it is filled with Yoshis and crying babies. The DS version is more of the same, and I'm not complaining here. The levels are fun, the graphics are still beautiful, and the music is upbeat. What's new this time around is that instead of simply having Baby Mario in tow, you get Baby Peach, Baby DK, Baby Bowser, and Baby Wario as well! They all have different skills - Mario for speed, Peach for floating, DK for strength, Bowser for fire, and Wario for... magnetism. Because he has a large center of gravity, or something ^_^ Because of this new element, you have baby changing stations where you switch out which baby Yoshi is carrying to reach specific parts of the level. There are also specific baby coins to collect in every level, along with the usual flowers and red coins.

One reason it works on the DS is because the dual screens let you scan more of the level. So there are times you can peek up and find hidden items or look lower to see what enemies are under you. However, the space between the two screens (the hinge) also counts as viewing space, so unfortunately you will miss some things if you don't continually scan up or down. It is a minor flaw, but so far I haven't found this to be too big of an issue. You're usually scanning so often to find items that you get the whole picture.

taken from sickr

I've had so much fun playing this game; it's puzzling but not exhausting, and I can put it down and pick it up later (which is the most important aspect of portable games, in my opinion). The only problem - it's not that challenging. Yes, sometimes I am stupid and fall into a bottomless pit, but most stages are a breeze to go through. I suppose deciding which baby to use requires a little brainpower, but usually it's pretty obvious if, say, vines are right next to the baby changing station. But you know what, I can't say that the first Yoshi's Island was that challenging either, and it was still one of my favorite games. So thank goodness they didn't change the sequel so much that it didn't work; I'm sure this will be one of my favorite DS games of all time.

edit: I'm a liar. I've played this game a lot more now, and it's definitely NOT a breeze. Especially if you're trying to get 100 on each level. Whew, and I'm only halfway through the game!

Sim City DS

I love Sim City! The game is coming to the DS, and it only seems natural with the stylus and the dual screens. There are new screenshots floating around, and the game looks great! But... WHAT is going on in the second picture??!

Yikes. Well, this can only mean one thing - that there will be new ways to destroy your beautiful city! Because you know the best part of the game was to speed up time and make every natural disaster occur. Yeeeeess. I wonder, with WiFi, can you destroy other people's cities? ^_^;

Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village

http://www.gametrailers.com/search.php?s=layton&str_type=allmedia

This... is a game? For the Nintendo DS? Looks more like a trailer for a Miyazaki film to me... which makes it AWESOME. Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village is apparently an RPG puzzle game, whatever that means, but wow the dialogue clips towards the end of the trailer are good enough for me ^_^ Tooooo bad I don't read a lick of Japanese. Well no I suppose I do because I can read some Chinese... it's hopeless. Well I suppose I can watch all my Miyazaki films to make up for it, and then play this game and pretend I'm Pazu in Laputa. Yeeeea. ^_^

Hotel Dusk: Best DS Game EVER

At least that's what 1Up says.

(The skinny guy says "like" a lot, erg..)

I definitely want to check out Hotel Dusk: Room 215. I love how the story and art is straight out of a detective crime novel; you even have to hold the DS like a book! Definitely very innovative, I haven't seen a game like this. Hopefully I can find it for less than $35 though...

(3 months and 65 hours later, I finally beat Okami. You want the best PS2 game ever? PLAY OKAMI.)

Sim City DS Trailer

Because I am super stoked about this game, here's more of Sim City DS!

The four-minute trailer demonstrates building cities, launching rockets, blowing up fireworks, fighting King Kong, and listening to some people lecture about stuff. If only the stupid thing was in ENGLISH, then I'd know what was going on with some things like the robot that looks like Clamps from Futurama. But then again I don't think the game has a US release yet, so I guess this is all we get. And as much as I want this game, $50 to import it is just a biiiit much. Bleh.

Cool DS Stuff Only For the Japanese

Stop it Nintendo! Stop coming out with cooler console stuff than I already have! I already had to sell my DS Phat to afford the Lite... and I LOVED my Mario Kart-red DS :( And THEN I traded my white DS lite for a black one... I really don't think GameStop will keep letting me do this, Nintendo. Final Fantasy III was released for the Nintendo DS with a limited edition bundle that included the game and a sweet looking crystal white DS Lite with artwork from Akihiko Yoshida on the cover (etched maybe?). Well they're doing it again for the release of Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (DS) which hits April 26 for Japan.

They're selling for 21,840 yen (about $180 american dollars), but expect to see them on eBay for oh, a bazillion (if anyone is so uncool enough to give it up).

Aaand on the topic of DS Lites, Colette at Destructoid (which I think at this point is my favorite gaming blog) found some really pretty DS Lite cases.

They're aluminum and snap on, so you can keep it on while you play. My birthday is in 4 months, I'll take either one from the top row thank you! ^_^

Bone Coming to DS

Okay, I must say that I've never played any of the Bone computer games. But then again, I've never dabbled in computer games considering I always had either a slow computer or a dying laptop. It was hard enough playing online poker without having my laptop shut off while I was chip leader. NOW I am on a shiny new(ish) MacBook Pro which happily runs Windows as well, so I am trying to catch up on whatever I've missed out on. Like Sam and Max. And Bone. And Monkey Island 2, 3, and 4. Any more suggestions?

Sometime this year, Bone will be ported to the DS, which hopefully means that we might be seeing more of these point and click adventure games coming over to the consoles. So far, there's been Hotel Dusk. Oh, and SPRUNG, which I have to admit had my full attention for a good two hours ^_^. I'm not sure if this is going to be one of the Bone games that are already out for the PC or a new episode, but it will be a lot of fun either way!

Panel de Pon on the DS!... sort of.

Whew! Four updates in one day, I am on a roll =P

Good news: One of the most addictive puzzle games EVER is coming to the Nintendo DS! Bad news: It's only coming out in Japan. Panel de Pon, otherwise known as Tetris Attack (SNES) over here in the states, will be released in Japan on the DS in April.

Though judging from these screenshots, is the DS going to be held book-style? If so, does that mean that we'll be using the stylus for the game? That seems kind of weird, especially for rotating the blocks. I'm too used to the keyboard arrows anyway. Hopefully the WiFi for this game works spectacularly and after tremendous success in Japan, will come over to the US soon after ^_^

(from Destructoid)

Sim City DS: I Am Set for the Summer

Sim City DS, released earlier in Japan, is making its way to the US this summer yaaaaaaaaay! (Hopefully Panel de Pon will follow suit!) This version will let the user utilize the DS's capabilities, like blowing into the mic to put out fires (though in reality, I'm sure that would make it worse), and using the stylus to sign off on city proclamations.

I really hope that they release the game after I get back from my trip to Taiwan, because if it comes out before I leave, I don't think I will be enjoying any of the sights. I have good intentions, but I cannot control how easily I get addicted to these damn Sim games. I don't even like ants and spiders, and STILL I threw away years of my childhood playing SimAnt. Well, I suppose this game will be useful during the 8-hour drive from the top of Taiwan to the bottom.

And now I'm going to try out the extended entry feature by including the press release!

DS on Demand

The people over at Pocket Gamer have compiled a list of 10 games that should, but might never make it to the DS. Some of these include Okami, any LucasArts adventure game (coughMonkeyIslandcough), Donkey Kong DS, and Goldeneye DS. Yea, this is a pretty good list, though the artwork in Okami would be sort of compromised with the small screens. You know what I would add to it though? An ENGLISH MOTHER 3 (Earthbound 2).

Speeaking of English and Mother 3, there have been several fan translation attempts, many of them ending prematurely. However, the people over at Mother3.org are finally making some headway and have put up a video showing their efforts.

Progress looks good, even though they're just battle translations so far. Aaah, just listening to the music and sound effects makes me happy ^_^ I'll just keep playing Earthbound over and over until someone finishes a translation or I learn Japanese. Sigh...

Kururin Donuts Sweetness

I like games, I like cooking. I like cooking games! But here is a platform game that rewards you with recipes.

You play as a spinning donut, similar to Sonic, and after you complete a level you get a recipe for a sweet dessert. I don't really know what else to say about it. It's strange and Japanese.

DS Teaches How to Wear Makeup

Thank goodness there is a game called Cosmetic Paradise for the DS that instructs little girls (and boys?) how to apply makeup. Maybe now I will finally learn how to wear makeup and not end up looking like a cheap whore. Or a middle-aged Asian lady.

And it's not just a makeup game, but a makeup adventure game! From Kotaku: "The heroine of the game lives in a magical land of cosmetics and must undergo a trial before becoming queen. The heroine must help the town's ladies when they want to confess their love to boys. Help comes in the form of make-up." Yes. Sign me up.

TAKE THAT!

If there is one DS game that I am completely happy with, it's Phoenix Wright. I just recently bought the second DS game in the series, Justice For All, on a whim, and I am loving every minute of it! But then again, I've always loved solving crimes. The third chapter, Trials and Tribulations, apparently goes into Phoenix's history and how he met his mentor, Mia Fey. And you know how we love them pre-quels.

Buy Zelda DS Lite Mod, Help The Kids!

Step right up and place your bids for this awesome Zelda DS! It's from the same people who brought you the awesome Zelda Wii (glad someone found a good use for the dumb Zelda toys from Target), but this one is for sale, and 15% of the proceeds goes towards Child's Play. And get this - not only does the shield light up, it rotates. Just in case, you know, you're playing Brain Age or Hotel Dusk. As of May 5th, it's going for about $800 (yikes). The action ends on the 7th, better dig around for some change if you want to get your hands on this one!

Rumor: Language Training DS

"Some new listings on GameFly indicate that Ubisoft might be getting even deeper into the DS edutainment business with language-learning software called My French Coach and My Spanish Coach."

This is perfect! The DS is a great tool for this kind of stuff, and I really hope that they offer more languages than just French and Spanish (meaning, Chinese and Japanese please? ^_^). I also hope that they make it fun, like Brain Academy. Because learning should be fun!

Chibi-Robo Is Back For More Cleaning!

Chibi-Robo is headed to the park and is ready for more cleaning! The trailer for the game has already been showing on TV in Japan. Oh, just hearing the same sound affects makes me happy ^_^ I really enjoyed the GameCube game; it was weird, it was quirky, it was a ton of fun. I'm sure it also helps that I'm a neat freak. Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol comes out for the Nintendo DS at the end of September.

Taiko Drum Master DS Commercial

Are you a Drum Master? I am! And if you have a DS, and are willing to import this game from Japan, then you can be too! This awesome arcade game is coming to the DS, and will be more awesome because it's not on PlayStation anymore and can feature the Super Mario Bros. theme! However, I will say that fiddling with those two little styluses (stylii?) looks kind of lame compared to the real drumsticks. But apparently the DS can input two touches at once, so I'm sure the game will be just as fun. Also, four-person multiplayer!!

Phantom Hourglass Gameplay

In the spirit of the "50 Most Shocking Celebrity Confessions" show that I'm watching, I too have a confession to make. I've never played any Zelda game. I know, I know. I've watched every Zelda game being played, sometimes for hours on end, but I've never played through one personally. And the thing is, I've tried. I loved watching my friend David play Ocarina of Time when we were little, and when my college roommate had it, I figured it was high time to beat one of the games. But! Who knew that right at the beginning of the game, SPIDERS KEEP DROPPING DOWN AROUND YOU. I... I can't stand spiders. But wait, weren't there huge hairy tarantulas in Okami? Well yes, but in Okami, you could freeze the screen, and make them drop down slower. In Ocarina, they just FALL on you, and they make this terrible clakclakclak noise. So unfortunately, I had to put the game down right at the beginning. Shame, shame.

Now that the new Zelda game is coming out for the DS, maybe I can try once again to beat a Zelda game. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass looks like a ton of fun, and the art, as usual, looks fantastic (kind of Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing art style, I hope I didn't just offend a ton of people by saying that). Check out this screenshot from the intro:

So cute! And while there may be spiders, they'll only be a few centimeters across ^_^ I think I'm enough of a big girl now to face little spiders. (Even though it's only been two years since I tried playing Ocarina...) Phantom Hourglass comes out in October.

Hack And Slash Harvest Moon

"Take all the crop growing, harvesting, fishing, and courting you'd normally find in a Harvest Moon title, and then add in a healthy dose of hack and slash dungeon exploration and you get Rune Factory, described by producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto as 'Harvest Moon where you wield a sword.'"

Perhaps this game will add a little life into the Harvest Moon franchise. I've been wanting to play all the new Harvest Moon games, but they just don't sound that interesting, probably because it's the same old story: you take care of your crops and livestock, and try to start a family. Adding an RPG element makes this game feel more... complete. And apparently it's been doing extremely well in Japan. Rune Factory comes out for the Nintendo DS in August.

New Brain Age 2 DS

brainage2bundle.jpg

I loved my cherry red DS Phat. I waited specifically until they released the Mario Kart bundle to buy my DS, and I looooved it! But of course, Nintendo teased me with a DS Lite, and I reluctantly sold it, disappointed that my new DS would be a boring white. I switched to a black one, thinking it was the next best thing to red, but no! Nintendo teases me again with this new red AND black DS Lite bundled with Brain Age 2. Curse you Nintendo! What am I supposed to do with my black DS, knowing that there's a beautiful blood red one floating around the market? Should I hold out until they come out with an all-red one? Because you know they will.

The new DS is only available bundled with Brain Age 2, and should be released on August 20.

Viva Pinata DS!!

Hooray, I don't have to shell out the big bucks for a XBox 360 anymore, since Viva Piñata is coming to the Nintendo DS! I recently was able to play the game, and everything about it, from the gameplay to the graphics, is just wonderful. And lord knows that I love simulation games where I just have to grow and take care of stuff, so!

In the DS version of the game, Rare is adding a sandbox mode, wi-fi swapping of pinatas, and an improved journal and encyclopedia. And the stylus is perfectly suited for caring and protecting your little piñatas. I especially like the elephant piñata, by the way. Its snoring noises are just adorable!

Kokoro Scan

Forget about the lame Katamari trailer a few posts back, and watch this. This is the trailer for a new Japanese DS game called Onsei Kanjou Sokuteiki: Kokoro Scan, which might as well stand for "love-filled acid trip" for all I know. As for a description for this game, Destructoid says: "The software converts the user's voice into groups of numbers and analyzes them to indicate their current mood. The software also gives you a rating in 5 different categories: anger, joy, disappointment, normality and excitement."

I'm not sure how any of that translates to "game", but it's Japanese, and therefore perfectly normal. I'd also like to point out that this trailer is six minutes long.

Cooking Mama 2: Dinner With Friends

Yes, I am so totally super excited about this game. My only regret is that I started my Cooking Mama Challenge so late, and now I'll probably have 80 MORE recipes to figure out! Cooking Mama 2: Dinner With Friends is for the Nintendo DS, and this time around, you are trying to impress picky, ungrateful friends, rather than a fiery Mama. There will be a Challenge Mode where four friends can wirelessly compete to make the best dish while only using one game card. Extras include customizable kitchens and a customizable Mama, along with a Decoration Mode.

I'm glad that this is for the DS - I played Cooking Mama for the Wii, and I didn't really like it. The movements were awkward, and the menu layout is atrocious. No idea when this game comes out, but hopefully I'll be further along my recipe challenge by then ^_^

Some New Nintendo DS "Games"

Mainichi Shibun 1000 Dai News: Japanese newspaper Mainichi Shinbun and SEGA have made a quiz game for the Nintendo DS. It tests players on their knowledge of events (in Japan) over the past 100 or so years, in categories like sports, society, and fashion. That's about it.

Anata Mo DS de Classic Kiite Mimasen Ka?: Translated as,"Wouldn't You Like To Listen To Some Classical Music On DS?", this DS game is a collaboration with Square-Enix (yes, really!) and iNiS (makers of Elite Beat Agents) to introduce classical music to players. "You go to a house. There's a dog. He loves classical music. Brief clips of famous classical pieces immediately start playing, without any information about them. As soon as you hear one you like, you can click the "I like this" button on the touch screen. And up pops a series of pages full of facts about the piece and the composer." This would be a pretty interesting learning tool, except that all the pieces are just minute-long clips that loop. Oh well, I'm all for getting more classical music in my life ^_^

A 13 Year-Old's Hello Work: This game is based off of a popular job guide book for teens. "Players are a young girl from the future who has traveled back in time to help people who have lost interest in work. Yes, there are mini-games." The book is apparently really funny, but I have no idea how this translates into a DS game. Will it help me figure out what to do with my life? I took a career assessment test in 8th grade and one of my options was farmer, and so far, life isn't turning out the way it should. That was sort of unrelated.

Simple DS Series Vol. 25: The Koushoujin: In this Phoenix-Wright-ish game, you play a police negotiator and try to persuade criminals to drop their weapons and give up. But before you pursue them, you have to research the criminal's history and the scene of the crime. Sounds interesting, but I'll probably just stick to Phoenix.

Bartender DS: And lastly, the only game on this list that I would like to see come to the US. I'm not an alcoholic! I just like recipes and food-related stuffs. Basically, this is a recipe collection for about 850 cocktails, complete with tips for proper mixing, and notes on its history and creation. I think it'd be more interesting if you actually played a bartender and had to mix drinks correctly for patrons, like Cooking Mama. Sigh, it's Japan-only for now though, so I can't really be picky.

Cute Killer Ninjas

These ninjas are... adorable? Wait, I thought ninjas were supposed to be awesome, stealth-like assassins! But in Ninja Town DS, apparently we have Ninja Dropping, Business Ninja, and Ninja Consultant. Strange. But I like how Ninja Consultant whips out his pie chart, heh. The song in this trailer is pretty sweet too.

Gangster Chipmunks

So, I don't know if YOU know, but there's going to be an Alvin and the Chipmunks movie coming out this holiday season. Why, I have no idea, but I'm sure it's for the same reason they're remaking Underdog. :shakes head: Anyway, in conjuction with the movie, Brash Entertainment is making a rhythm game where the Chipmunks rap their way from small venues to sold-out stadiums, and eventually, to Rockathonapalooza (very original, guys).

The game will have about 40 songs from acts like Run DMC, Blink 182, REM, but in those annoying high-pitched chipmunk voices. You have to be really masochistic if you decide to get this game, or a terrible person if you get this as a gift. The game comes out this holiday season on all the consoles.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates

Alright, I don't even care anymore. I'm still pretty bitter about how the GameCube's Crystal Chronicles turned out, but after watching this video of the new CC's gameplay, I don't think I can resist anymore. It's just... so.... CUTE! Augh. It's for the Nintendo DS, so it won't break the bank as much as if it were a Wii game. Plus, I'm due for another great DS game - I finished Hotel Dusk a while back, and the DS has just been collecting dust on my shelf :( This game does look great though, and I hope all the music that I'm hearing in the video will be in the game, because that'll be worth it by itself. ^_^

Upcoming Stuff You Probably Already Know About

It's been a while. Let's talk video games, shall we?

There's a ton of stuff I want to update about, but I've been bogged down by school and work and trying to catch up on sleep. But my bookmarks folder is getting pretty insane, and I'm tired of not updating. So I'm thinking I'm just going to knock everything out in one whopper of a post, seeing as most of this stuff is pretty old news, and my night class got canceled so I have three extra hours to bum around ^_^ Sorry, this is going to be pretty unorganized and to the point!

ONLINE TIMEWASTERS
To start things off, here are the two main reasons why I'm doing terribly this semester - Scrabulous (online Scrabble) and Warbook (a strategy, level-up type game), two of the most popular applications on Facebook. Be forewarned - these games are incredibly addicting.

DiggKiller is a simple shooter game where you kill recent top stories on Digg.com. I like how when the stories explode, you can collect all the comments, heh. Pretty clever.

Even though it's not really a game, the treehugger in me has to plug Consumer Consequences, a flash application that calculates how many Earths it would take to sustain life if everyone lived like you did. It takes 4 Earths for me, but there's little I change while I live in an apartment complex :(

Lastly, some of the best time wasters on the net - Grow Games. I've mentioned these before, but they're still fun and challenging, and very cute, of course. ^_^
